Picture of Paige Spiranac on a magazine cover struck controversy
Spiranac is never an eyesore for her fans. However, her critics found it awkward to see her picture on the cover of a Golf Digest magazine. It was when professional golfer, Lydia Ko, was 18 years old and was doing wonders on the field. Ko was in the lead for the LPGA rankings and earned $1,020,015. But the magazine chose to feature the 23-year-old social media sensation on its cover.

Several critics took advantage of the situation and targeted the magazine and Spiranac with their harsh comments. Among them was LPGA Hall of Famer Juli Inkster who said, “You look at what Lydia Ko’s doing, and why isn’t she on the cover?”
Inkster added, “I know that stuff sells, and they are in the business of selling magazines, but I think people could learn more in an article about Lydia…I don’t agree with it, but it’s their magazine and they can do what they want.”
