LIV Golf has been in the headlines for a long time before it started. A majority of talented golfers from the PGA Tour fled to the LIV Golf Tour and left the former. However, there are still some players who have stuck to PGA and are defending it continuously.
A consistent banter has been going on between the PGA Tour and the LIV Tour. It started with the sudden transition of Phil Mickelson to the Saudi-backed league. But recently, another incident included former world No. 5 Ian Poulter’s unexpected move against the DP World Tour.

Other than Poulter, two more players – Justin Harding and Adrian Otaegui did the same for themselves and paved their way into the event. The two are already in East Lothian, while Poulter is currently playing the JP McManus Pro-Am in Ireland.

After the appeal, Poulter freely spoke from Ireland, “I didn’t have any other choice, did I? I had to appeal,”. He said that it was the right thing to do and said that he felt good about it. He also didn’t seem concerned about anything else as his reception with his fans was better than he was expecting.

DP Tour Chief Executive responds after LIV Golf hearing
Keith Pelley, the chief executive of the DP World Tour, expressed his disappointment after the hearing in court. According to the hearing, Ian Poulter and the other LIV golfers were allowed to play in the Scottish Open. Pelley was not okay with the outcome of the hearing and said that the sanctions have only been put on a stay order. That’s because the hearing of the players remains pending.

The LIV Tour has promised to pay larger amounts to the players than the PGA Tour. This is the reason why most players decided to shift to the new Saudi-funded Tour. A lot of players are still playing on the PGA Tour, but only time will tell what their future decisions would be regarding their golf careers.
