Michael Jordan speaks boldly about Tiger Woods
The foundation of this friendship was laid long back when Woods was only 14 and he started admiring Jordan. He wanted to become the Michael Jordan of Golf. Years later, the Nike deal turned this admiration into a friendship between the two. Call it destiny or a manifestation, the duo’s friendship probably won millions of hearts. However, ever since, they have experienced a turn of events in their relationship.
After the 2009 incident, Woods distanced himself from almost everyone, including Jordan. While commenting on the same in 2016, Jordan predicted the future of Woods’s career. He said, “This bothers him more than anything. It’s a ship he can’t right and he’s never going to. What can you do? The thing is about T-Dub, he cannot erase. That’s what he really wants. He wants to erase the things that happened.”
He added that, “The thing is, I love him so much that I can’t tell him, ‘You’re not gonna be great again.’ ” However, Woods proved all speculations wrong with his historical comeback in the 2019 Masters. MJ cheered him on and called this the greatest comeback he has ever seen. He was quick to acknowledge the efforts Woods made and congratulated him for the same.
