After being diagnosed with bladder cancer, John Daly openly talked about it in the media. Talking about his interaction with the doctor, John Daly said, “The doctor didn’t tell me to just sit at home.” He didn’t really tell me to play, either, but I can’t just sit at home. “My mind would make me feel worse.”

Daly went to his doctor for his routine checkup regarding his kidney stone and back pains that he had been suffering from. But contrary to anyone’s expectations, the five-time PGA Tour winner was diagnosed with cancer. Soon after his diagnosis, Daly underwent surgery to remove the cancer. Before undergoing the surgery, he was told that there were about 85% chances that the cancer might return.

John Daly somehow finds a positive ray of hope in everything. He said, “The good news is it wasn’t in the kidneys and it wasn’t in the liver.” In cancer people usually get on a strict diet and routine but he is no ordinary man. As per one of the articles from Sanford Health, John Daly said, “A lot of people have had it, and a lot of them have made it.” … I only smoked six cigarettes today. Normally, I’d smoke about a pack and a half. “I’m trying to slow everything down.”
