Her fans know her as the queen of golf but Paige Spiranac is also a sister who shares a sibling rivalry just like any other sibling. Spiranac has an elder sister Lexie Mitchell (neé Spiranac). Now both are fully functioning adults with lives and careers of their own. While Paige is a golf influencer, her elder sister is a freelance writer and content consultant who specializes in personal branding and upscaling small businesses.

But the two shared half a lifetime together living in a house. Filling the shoes of an elder sister is a tough job even for Spiranac. She may be an internet sensation these days but she had a regular childhood where she grew up with her sister Lexie. They even shared a rivalry while growing up.

Elder sister spills the beans on relationship with Paige Spiranac

Recently Lexie appeared on Paige’s Spiranac podcast Playing a round with Paige in the absence of her younger sister and hosted the show with the co-host Sam. There she discussed how both the sisters were poles apart while growing up and how competitive Paige was with her growing up. Sometimes it even led to insecurities.

Lexie says on the podcast to Sam, “So I have done a lot of different things. I am the opposite of Paige she is in the sport that is you do one thing, you do it for a very long time and you do it over and over and over. I’ve done a lot of different things, a lot of different sports, but my main sport was track and field, and of course because of the nature of how I operate. I was a heptathlete.”

“So I went to Stanford on a heptathlete scholarship. I was there for track and field. So I did primarily in high school, high jump, and long jump, and then some sprints and hurdles. And so then in college, I did all seven events and then the pentathlon in the winter. And it was great. And then obviously, I love trying new things. But I also have a perfectionist, I forced myself to do it.”

Recently the sisters joined forces and authored a children’s book “Hattie Goes Golfing” which is about encouraging kids to pursue sports, and especially golf. However, as Lexie describes the main theme of the book is to teach children how important it is to listen to their hearts.

What Paige has said about her relationship with Lexie?

As a young athlete, Paige was interested in gymnastics and moved to Arizona to pursue golf. Her mother moved with her. Hence Lexie was raised by their father and Paige was raised by their mother Lexie stayed in Colorado with their dad.  Paige says “I think I was jealous of you. Because Dad pretty much raised you. You had a lot more freedom than I had.” 

Though Lexie is a private person and leads a very reserved life fans love it when she makes special appearances with Paige sometimes.
