After missing the cut, she admitted, “I tried to give it my all. That’s what I do with every round. However, this time, it just wasn’t enough.

The upcoming major event for women’s golf is set to be held at St. Andrews this year. Korda expressed her belief that winning the AIG Women’s Open at St. Andrews would be a “special” experience. Following the US Women’s Open, Korda disclosed to the Ladies European Tour website that “For a golfer, there’s no greater honor than winning a major championship.” “There’s no greater feeling. To do it at St. Andrews, to do it at the home of golf – with all that history – would be so, so special,” said LPGA’s Stargirl.

Korda’s excitement for the AIG Women’s Open is running high, as she further revealed, “So I’m super excited how the week will turn out. We’re playing at the home of golf so I’m expecting it to be an amazing week. There’s so much history at St. Andrews, and I’m excited to be a part of that, to walk out on the Old Course and to compete out there.”

St. Andrews has hosted numerous tournaments and has been graced by some of the most prominent male golfers over the years. In 1978, Jack Nicklaus, an 18-time major winner, triumphed at the Open Championship. Tiger Woods also won the Open at St. Andrews in 2000 and 2005. The course has additionally seen pros like Nick Faldo, John Daly, and others.

Where is Nelly Korda playing next before the AIG Women’s Open?

Curiously, the golfer won’t be participating in the ShopRite LPGA Classic, set to start on June 7th. The event will feature 144 golfers, including defending champion Ashleigh Buha. However, Korda is expected to join the competition following the one in New Jersey, when the LPGA moves to the Blythefield Country Club in Michigan for the Meijer LPGA Classic.

Three years ago, at the Meijer LPGA Classic, 25-year-old Korda clinched victory by a two-stroke margin over Leona Maguire. It marked her fifth career win on the LPGA Tour, a number that has now grown to 14.
