To offer the best for fans from a broadcaster’s perspective, NBC has done a great job in choosing a pro player who has played 300+ events for covering the PGA Tour events. The recent role offered by NBC to Kevin Kisner as the lead golf analyst for the 2025 season will provide fans with in-depth coverage while understanding the thought process of each player through Kisner’s experience.

As a professional, choosing a job outside the course might affect his first career, which is professional golf. For fans, this would be a great opportunity to witness their favorite Kevin Kisner on the field all the time, either at the course playing or at the NBC booth covering the news. This offer just doesn’t come in as a fluke for him; he has covered tournaments like the WM Phoenix Open and the Players Championship earlier for the broadcaster, for which he was offered the role.

Kisner earlier said that golf “ain’t no hobby,” but is his profession. Although now he will be switching between two professions. As his first event of the 2025 season, fans can see him in action at the TGL tournament next, which is starting from January 7, 2025. The golfer turned analyst will be participating in the upcoming tech-infused series created by Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy along with Mike McCarley.

The event was planned to debut last year but was postponed. However, it will finally take place in January 2025. With 24 players playing in the team of four, Kisner will join the Jupiter Links Golf Club. Along with him in the team, Tiger Woods, Max Homa, and Ton Kim will be seen swinging.

What’s the mutual contract between Kevin Kisner and NBC?

Kevin Kisner has got a one-time exemption from the PGA Tour career money list for the 2025 season. He will be seen doing both jobs, i.e. playing and covering the sports as an analyst. To make it easier, both have found a mutual consent where Kisner’s part-time career and his new career go hand-in-hand. As per the contract, Kisner, when playing, will be replaced by another analyst, while when off the course will be working as the analyst for NBC. Following on to his replacement when playing, as Golf Digest reported, Faxon will be taking Kisner’s place when he will be teeing up.

However, with not so good season for Kisner, he will not be a part of all events this year. Though, if he finishes well, he might get into some of the biggest events of the PGA Tour. Even with his 2024 season ranking, he was pushed to 196th position after he could only make the cut for 6 events out of 23.

What’s your perspective on:

Is Kevin Kisner's dual role a smart career move, or a risky gamble with his golf legacy?
