The 2023 Hong Kong Open has generated quite a buzz by attracting a pool of LIV golfers onto the greens. These include Patrick Reed, who drew the wrath of fans at the LIV Jeddah event, and last year’s Open winner, Cameron Smith. Talor Gooch, the season champion for the LIV Golf 2023 season, will tee off against his RangeGoats GC teammates, Harold Varmer III and Thomas Pieters.
Interestingly, before the three-year break, the Asian Tour event was part of the DP World Tour the last time it was played. However, as it has been organized by the Golf Association Hong Kong in association with China as well as Japan’s Asian Tour this time, the 62nd edition of the tournament is open to LIV Golf pros as well. Ahead of the $2 million event that begins on Thursday, November 10, here is everything you need to know about the penultimate international series.

With 155 years of history at its side, the Hong Kong Golf Club is one of the oldest golf courses not just in Asia, but in the world. Since the tournament’s inception in 1959, it’s been played on the same course, making it share a unique feat with a major tournament. Only the US Major has stayed at the same venue, Augusta National Golf Club, for more than sixty years.
The 18-hole course, sitting well with the natural landscape of the region, has long, shady trees and large corridors. Aside from the sprawling greens, the famed Fan Village will welcome visitors to a range of fun activities. From DJ performances to golf simulators, chances to entertain yourself are plenty.
