The golfers will fight for the prize money of $2.1 million out of which the winner will get $315,000, and with the way last year Flesch won, the expectations are high for him. Last year, he had a comeback that would be remembered for years. He finished 19 under par, and notably, he set a new 18-hole and 54-hole course record at Norwood Hills Country Club. He started the final round two shots off the lead and then carded 9-under 62, including an eagle and seven birdies. This helped him outshine Kevin Sutherland and Y.E. Yang and secure his first win of the season.

The Ascension Charity Classic is indeed a little bit different as it offers more than just lighthearted golf this week. And as the name says, most of the things are related to charity.
What’s special about the Ascension Charity Classic?
To start, there’s the Charity Putting Challenge, which will feature a nine-hole scramble-format putting match between amateur golfers and PGA Tour Champion professionals. Last year at the RSM Putting Challenge, 11 charities earned cash prizes through this event. The event also has the Ascension Charity Classic Youth Clinic. It helps a group of young golfers by providing them with an opportunity to learn and develop golf skills. During the first round of the Ascension Charity Classic, they will also celebrate Folds of Honor Friday.
