Remember when the PGA Tour and European circuits dominated golf? Those days are long gone! The sport has now exploded across Asia, and tournaments are popping up in places many Western fans never imagined. One of the most exciting developments is the rebirth of the International Series Macau. This event first appeared in 1998 but vanished for years. However, it made a comeback in 2023. Now, it’s back—packed with the purse worth $2M and star power you won’t want to miss.

For American fans, watching live might take some effort. The broadcast schedule means early mornings or late-night DVR sessions. The Golf Channel will air all four days from the Macau Golf and Country Club. The first two rounds start at 3:00 AM ET on March 20-21. Meanwhile, weekend rounds begin earlier at 1:30 AM ET on March 22–23.

If you prefer streaming, there are options for that, too. The Asian Tour’s official website and International Series platforms will provide live coverage. Additionally, LIV Golf’s digital channels may offer streaming options. This gives fans multiple ways to follow their favorite players, no matter their time zone.

The International Series itself is relatively new. It launched in March 2022 with a massive $300 million investment from LIV Golf. Partnering with the Asian Tour, this collaboration created 10 elevated tournaments. These events offer bigger prize money and stronger competition. The Macau tournament, however, has a longer history, as mentioned earlier. It boasts champions like Colin Montgomerie and Lee Westwood.

For American fans, this tournament is particularly exciting. Many familiar faces are in the field, competing for more than just the $2 million prize pool. Even more enticing, three qualifying spots for The Open Championship at Royal Portrush are on the line. That’s serious motivation for players chasing a major championship berth!

Sergio Garcia and Co. are looking to make their mark in Macau

Former PGA Tour stars now competing on LIV Golf will headline the event. Sergio Garcia enters as one of the favorites after recently winning both individual and team titles in Hong Kong. Fellow major champions Patrick Reed and Graeme McDowell join the Spaniard in what promises to be a competitive field. Reed has already shown his comfort on Asian soil, shooting an incredible 59 at the Hong Kong Open not long ago.

Defending champion John Catlin returns to the venue where he made history with his own 59 last year. Other notable names include Abraham Ancer, rising star David Puig, recent LIV Golf Riyadh winner Adrian Meronk, and fan favorite Anirban Lahiri. American golf fans will also recognize Anthony Kim, who made a rare competitive appearance; YouTube personality Luke Kwon; and Chase Koepka, brother of five-time major champion Brooks Koepka.

With such a competitive field and significant opportunities on the line, who do you think will emerge victorious at the 2025 International Series Macau?
