Who’s got what it takes? Top contenders eyeing the TOUR Championship

At the top of the list is Scottie Scheffler, who’s had a season of a lifetime. #1 has bagged six PGA Tour wins, including a coveted major. However, he’ll face stiff competition, despite his 10-stroke lead ahead of No. 30, Justin Thomas. But chasing him will be Xander Schauffele, who’s hot on his heels and will start 2-strokes behind Scheffler. Moreover, given his stellar track record at East Lake, that is what makes Schauffele a formidable contender. The 2-time major champ has never finished worse than 7th in 7 career starts here.

Schauffele’s chances are impressive, but another player who can’t be counted out as a three-time TOUR Championship winner is Rory McIlroy. The Northern Irishman has proved he can overcome significant gaps. In 2022, he chased down Scheffler after starting 6 strokes behind. Although he’s not in great form right now, he’s still a top contender for the TOUR championship.

However, don’t count out the dark horses just yet. Among them is Viktor Hovland, the defending champion, who needs to overcome an 8-stroke deficit. But whoever ultimately claims the top spot, fans are in for a treat. They can enjoy the thrilling conclusion from the comfort of their couch, surrounded by drama and excitement.
