To catch the 131-player field in action, US golf fans can watch on the Golf Channel and NBC on TV. The Golf Channel will show all four rounds but NBC will show only the weekend rounds. The first two rounds of the PGA Tour event will be televised on Golf Channel from 4-7 PM ET.
On the weekend, the Golf Channel will televise the event from 1-3 PM ET and the NBC from 3-6 PM ET. If these timings are not a match, fans can watch the Mexico Open 2024 on PGA Tour Live, available exclusively on ESPN+. The perk of opting for ESPN+ is that it will feature group coverage of each round.
However, if traditional broadcasts are more your style then Peacock will NBC’s TV coverage online. There will also be a Radio broadcast from the official PGA Tour website. This year will mark the 80th anniversary of this PGA Tour event.
Furthermore, this event is turning out to be a favorite of Tony Finau’s fans. The American golfer and Jon Rahm have swapped the top two spots in this event in 2022 and 2023. But with the Spaniard in the breakaway league, Finau can have an easy glide to victory if he repeats his performance.
The event is offering a whopping $8 million purse for the event, with the winner getting $1.4 million. But it looks like the prize money and the 500 FedEx Cup points are not enough to attract many players.

Scottie Scheffler was one of the first to pull from this event. He has never played this event in his career, making 2024 no different. However, Rory McIlroy not playing was a shock. He has played only two PGA Tour events this year, so not partaking in one more was confusing.
Viktor Hovland and Xander Schauffele are also not going to compete in the Mexico Open 2024, probably due to inconsistent form and wanting to take time to improve their skills, and come back stronger for the 2024 Augusta showdown. Following these big names, Will Zalatoris has also withdrawn from the event but has yet to declare why. One of the probable reasons for his withdrawal is thought be a passing away of a close family member.
