The PGA Tour returns to Florida for the Cognizant Classic after a scenic trip to the Navel of the Moon. The event at the Palm Beach PGA National Resort has been a marquee event since 2007. And this time, the 2012 Honda Classic (old name of the event) winner, Rory McIlroy, is gracing the 144 players’ field after last playing it in 2018.

The event is bound to be an epic showdown, with many more top talents, including the defending champion, Chris Kirk, returning too. And even if you’re unable to catch it in person, fret not, for you can keep track of all the live actions from your living room!

There are more than three different ways to watch the Cognizant Classic

The newly-named event will start on February 29th, and the final round will be on March 3rd. Over the four-day stretch, the Cognizant Classic will be aired via different channels, the two main being the Golf Channel and NBC. The Thursday and Friday broadcasts of rounds one and two will start at 2:00 p.m. ET and end at 6:00 p.m. ET on the Golf Channel.

The stream of the same will be simulcast on Peacock. The Golf Channel/Peacock will air the Saturday and Sunday rounds at 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Whereas, NBC will broadcast only rounds three and four. The rounds will be aired right after the Golf Channel’s streams end, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. ET.

The event can also be enjoyed via SiriusXM and the PGATour.com Live Audio feature from 12:00 to 7:00 p.m. for the first two rounds and 1:00 to 6:00 p.m. for the last two rounds. Additionally, the Cognizant Classic can also be watched on ESPN+. The streaming platform not only streams the main event but also marquee groups. The schedule for the same is given below (EST):

  • Thursday and Friday: 6:45 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
  • Saturday and Sunday: 6:45 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
  • Marquee groups: Thursday: 7:30 a.m.–2:00 p.m.
  • Friday: 7:45 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
  • Saturday and Sunday: 7:45 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

The pros in the marquee group for Thursday are McIlroy, defending champion Chris Kirk, and last week’s winner, Jake Knapp. The Friday marquee group has Tom Kim, Matt Fitzpatrick, and Justin Rose on the 10th tee. There are additionally five featured groups for the opening two rounds of the Champions course that will either stream in the morning or afternoon.

The event is the ninth stop on the PGA Tour. It also features the second high-prize event so far, making it a must-watch for many fans!

What is at stake for the pros at Palm Beach?

The Cognizant Classic is the sixth additional event on the PGA Tour 2024 schedule and only the second to offer a prize purse that’s close to the $10 million Farmers Insurance Open. This week, pros will be competing for a whopping $9 million, of which the winner will get an 18% cut, which is $1.62 million. Moreover, the winner will also earn 500 FedExCup points for the standings.
