The PGA Tour will be visiting the state of Utah for the first time since 1963, with 132 golfers looking to win the inaugural Black Desert Championship in Irwin. Last week, PGA Tour University alum Kevin Yu won his maiden victory at the Sanderson Farms Championship. He could have carried the momentum, but he has withdrawn from the event.

The competition will start on October 10, Thursday, and you can watch the opening round on the Golf Channel from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., stream it on the NBC Sports App, or watch the simulcast on NBC.com. The timings for the rest of the rounds will be the same for the Black Desert Championship on NBC and Golf Channel.
One more way to watch the Black Desert Championship is through the PGA Tour Live. This stream could be watched on ESPN+ and will exclusively stream the featured groups from 10:00 a.m. on Thursday and Friday. The stream for Saturday and Sunday may start in a similar time frame. Interestingly, after the PGA Tour embarks on its journey in Utah, the LPGA Tour will follow and will also hold a tournament in 2025. It will be a bustling affair for Utah-based golf enthusiasts to enjoy the sport. Nonetheless, even with the Black Desert Championship being a new tournament, the PGA Tour has inaugurated it like it was always there, with golfers like Rookie of the Year contestant Nick Dunlap, Cameron Champ, Mike Weir, and more in the field. What’s at stake at the Black Desert Championship?
Last week, Kevin Yu and Beau Hossler matched in the challenging playoff at the Sanderson Farms Championship, where the PGA Tour U alum took his maiden victory home and a check of $1.368 million. Now, as the PGA Tour turns to the Ivins, Utah, the total prize money for the Black Desert Championship is on similar lines, except there would be $100,000 less.

The Sanderson Farms Championship distributed a total of $7.6 million to the field, whereas at the Black Desert Championship, there will be $7.5 million for the field after the 36-hole cut, and the winner will bag $1.35 million. There will also be 500 FedExCup points on the line, as the golfers will want to move inside the 51 to 125 ranks on the standings to secure the 2025 cards.
Moreover, there will also be around 30 Official World Rankings points up for grabs, but the points might be subject to change for the inaugural Black Desert Championship. With the competitive prize purse set and the field having some of the best players, it would not be wrong to assume that the Black Desert Championship will be immensely entertaining for the fans.
