With the 2024 Masters Tournament right around the corner, everything related to the Augusta National Golf Course has come to the forefront of the golf world’s intrigue. Apart from hosting the renowned quest for the Green Jacket, the course also hosts a very exclusive 300-member club, whose membership is probably as difficult as earning an invite to the Masters’ roster.
So, how do you earn a membership to the Augusta National GC? Well, there is no set application procedure, membership is only awarded at the discretion of the club. However, existing members have the option to nominate a deserving candidate to fill a vacancy.
The cost of membership to the private club founded in 1932 by Bobby Jones and Clifford Roberts is relatively low considering how prestige-rich and exclusive it is. The initiation fee is estimated to start around $40,000 and go up to $200,000, but this is not the officially disclosed cost.

Alongside the one-time initiation fee, club members are also required to pay yearly dues between $7,000 to $10,000 as well as a monthly fee between $400 and $500 in their tenure as esteemed members, making it a very elite-centered facility.

In return for the hefty amount spent, Augusta National GC club members get to avail themselves of a wide range of benefits that come with such membership. The primary benefits remain the exclusivity offered and the affordable prices of otherwise extremely expensive services offered by the site that hosts one of the most prestigious events.
This also translates to the allowance to stay in cabins on the property for a comparatively lesser sum of $100 per night. They also get access to a range of different facilities, like the 18-hole golf course, the clubhouse, tennis courts, and a swimming pool. Some famous members of the club include Bill Gates, Condoleezza Rice, and billionaire Warren Buffett.
