Lexi Thompson is known for her exceptional golf skills as we all know. But only a few know that the golfer stands out in another department as well, literally Thompson who is a dominant force in women’s golf stands tall at 6 feet (1.83m), surpassing the average height of LPGA Tour players, which is 5′ 6″ (1.67m).

Some other players with exceptional heights are Anna Nordqvist – 6ft/1.83m, Jessica Korda  – 5ft 9″/1.8m, and Nelly Korda – 5ft 8″/1.78m. Notably, the world’s top 3 players, Lilia Vu, Celine Boutier, and Ruoning Yin, are significantly shorter, standing at 5′ 4″ (1.64m), 5′ 4″ (1.64m), and 5′ 2″ (1.57m), respectively.

Thompson’s height gives her an edge in golf, allowing her to swing farther and hit stronger shots. But height isn’t everything. Golfers like Lilia Vu, Ruoning Yin, and Celine Boutier prove that players of any size can succeed. Taller golfers like Lexi Thompson, who stands at 6ft can utilize their natural advantage to generate more power and distance in their drives. Thompson, the joint tallest player on the LPGA Tour, has consistently ranked among the top 10 in driving distance over the past decade, averaging around 275 yards per drive.

Anna Nordqvist, who is also 6 feet tall, may not match Thompson’s driving distance but has achieved remarkable success since turning pro in 2009. And with nine LPGA Tour wins and a stalwart presence on the European Solheim Cup team, the player is surely making a name.

Notably, Michelle Wie West, who is no longer competing, would have been the tallest at 6 ft 0.5 in (1.85 m). But West also would’ve been surpassed by the late Carol Mann, who remains the tallest female professional golfer in history, standing at an impressive 6ft 3in (1.90m). We’ve learned enough about the tallest female golfers leading the LPGA Tour, but what about male golfers?
