As the first round of the 2024 PGA Championship gets underway, Viktor Hovland has already captured the attention! Not necessarily with his gameplay, but with his intriguing blue-and-white outfit selection. Renowned for his bizarre yet fashionable clothes on the greens, the Norwegian did not disappoint.

The golfer will be donning J. Lindeberg on a course at Valhalla, and the color scheme he has opted for as per his sponsors for the week is blue and white. For Day 1, the pro is wearing a royal blue polo priced at $108.62 and matching pants at $162.94. In the second round, he’ll switch to the white pants at $162.94 paired with an eye-catching leopard-print polo at $108.62.

If all goes well and Hovland makes the cut, he would wear royal blue pants with a white polo priced at $108.62 and a leopard print compression garment at $86.92. On the final day, the 27-year-old will choose white pants priced at $162.94 and a sky blue polo at $119.51, slightly higher than the others.

The golfer became a J. Lindeberg ambassador in 2019 and has since made history by becoming the first Norwegian to claim victories on both the 2020 PGA Tour and the 2021 European Tour. “Signing Viktor to a long-term deal is a major step in building our brand in the coming years. Viktor is an amazing talent, with a charm and ease about him that we at J.Lindeberg feel will inspire the younger player segment in the golf fashion business, on and off the course. Our team at J.eaLindeberg looks forward to walking alongside Viktor on his journey through golf in the coming years,” said Jonas Andersson (CEO of J. Lindeberg).

All these prices are base prices for the clothing and may change during checkout. Enthusiasts interested in purchasing these items can also visit the website to explore the collection. It’s not the first time the pro has been seen on the course wearing interesting outfits, and that too at the majors. But why does he do so?

J. Lindeberg chooses Viktor Hovland’s major attire

During last year’s Masters, he wore an “atrocious” red-colored polo with azalea flowers on it. The t-shirt at that time retailed for nearly $115 and garnered a lot of attention from the golf community. One interesting thing is that at regular Tour events, he wears a lot of black and gray outfits, but during the major tournaments, he goes all out. He does so because it is all part of his contract with the Swedish brand.

During the 2023 PGA Championship, Hovland once again drew attention with his vibrant clothing choices. He wore a bright orange t-shirt with a hue of yellow. The pro then disclosed, “Well, J. Lindeberg, they give me this stuff and pay me money to do so, so I just show up and wear what they want me to wear.” As a paid brand ambassador for the brand, he is compensated to wear these outfits, and well, it truly does make sense now!

As the tournament kicks off, the anticipation builds for moments like these. At the 2024 Masters, it was Jason Day who became the center of attraction for his Malbon Golf attire, and now, it is the Norwegian pro.
