Rory McIlroy has gained back the respect of his fans by winning the CJ Cup in South Carolina. The golfer not only won the title for the tournament but also made it to World No. 1 again! But how much did he pocket from the event? And did he earn any FedEx Cup points as a result of his victory?

The tournament was hosted at the Congaree Golf Club in South Carolina, where McIlroy displayed some amazing skills. However, the golfer had already won the tournament previously. And he was able to defend a title for the second time in his career.

But it was not just the trophy that he took home. The golfer pocketed $1.89 million as the winner’s share from the tournament. And not only that, but McIlroy also earned 500 FedExCup points from his victory.
What were McIlroy’s feelings after his victory?
Rory McIlroy expressed how he felt about his victory in a post-game interview. It was the first time since 2020 that the golfer had reclaimed his position as World No. 1. And therefore, it was pretty overwhelming for him to be back on top again. McIlroy said, “It means a lot”. He mentioned working very hard for the past 12 months to get back to this position. The player also said that he was trying to enjoy each tournament he played in and wanted to fully be a part of it.

McIlroy won his 23rd PGA Tour event by winning the CJ Cup. The golfer also shared his plans to celebrate his win with his friends on the tour. And there is no doubt that his splendid performance calls for a grand celebration.
