Battling with the challenges in personal and professional life, Joel Dahmen has always shown a strong side of resilience. The golfer who earlier struggled in retaining his PGA Tour card is now breaking the course record. Even in his personal life, he struggled with health as he was diagnosed with testicular cancer, but the same resilience is what has led to a happy and successful life. He has become an inspiration with his strong, persistent approach.
Well, other than him, partial credit goes to his wife, Lona Dahmen, who has been a constant supporter of the golfer. Be it life or course, she has always been with the golfer. The duo met in 2012 in a line at a pizza place in Scottsdale. Interestingly, Dahmen offered her a slice if she could cross the line faster than him. The cute memory of the duo resulted in a phone number exchange, and the following week, the golfer asked her for a date.
Well, the love started to bloom for each other, and after 6 years of dating, they made it official on December 15, 2018. The duo shares a special supporting bond, which is cherished by the entire golf community. Earlier in 2022, Joel Dahmen praised his wife through social media while hinting at future plans. He wrote, “4 years of bliss! You are truly special. I can’t wait to attempt this parenting thing with you! I love you!” The hint of parenting after 4 years of marriage in 2022 soon caught the spotlight, with the family welcoming their firstborn.

Joel Dahmen’s special mentions for his wife and son
The golfer has never missed an opportunity to thank his wife for the support and praise her. After the birth of Riggs, he has praised her on every occasion, be it Mother’s Day or her birthday. On her birthday, sharing Lona Dahmen’s two photos —one with her parenting and the other from a photoshoot —he expressed his emotions. In the caption, he wrote, “Happy birthday to the most amazing wife and mother! Riggs and I love you! @lonbon813 @traveleatsandtreats.” The golfer had earlier credited her wife for bringing her back to the sport, and the gratitude for the support is evident.
They both share a transparent relationship. In Netflix’s Full Swing series, the duo was featured, where Lona Dahmen shared about their bond. She said, “There are moments where I was like, ‘OK, I don’t think you are doing well … You are off and now you are dragging everyone else down with you.’ That sounds harsh, but I am not afraid to say something to my husband because it’s our family.” The great bond between the two is evident, and that has been the key to their relationship thus far.

Well, Dahmen, apart from praising his wife, has also praised the young boy in the Dahmen family. A few months ago, on the occasion of Riggs’ birthday, Joel and Lona Dahmen posted a cute carousel. In the caption, they wrote, “Happy 2nd birthday to the most fun and lovable dude! You are a smart, inquisitive, silly, and kind little soul! Watching your personality form this past year has been the biggest highlight of our lives. Mommy and daddy love you so much!”
The family bond has become a source of strength for the golfer, and the result is evident in his performance on the course. After his win in the 2021 Corales Puntacana Championship, the golfer in 2025 has set a record low at the course with his first round of 62.
