Golfers don’t get to sail through smoothly. The PGA Tour Courage Award winner, Gary Woodland, experienced something similar. He has been through a tough phase in life, be it professionally or personally. The golfer with the average season ongoing since the past few years got diagnosed with a brain lesion in August 2023 and has been having a rough time on and off the course. But despite the issue, he has showcased a stronger side, and along with him, much credit goes to his wife and kids who have been on his side.
Though the golfer has not shared much about his personal life, but the constant support from the family can never be unseen. Especially his wife Gabby Woodland, who has been his biggest supporter and motivator for the last 10 years.
Not just her, but the entire family of 5, including Gary Woodland, is a pillar of support for each other. After getting engaged in 2017, the duo announced they were expecting twins. But later he shared the unfortunate news through social media. The golfer shared that they lost one of the babies after complications, and doctors monitored mother Gabby Woodland until Jaxson was born in June 2017.

He even shared on social media about the great news. The post read, “G and I are so excited to welcome Jaxson Lynn Woodland into the world. He came to us 10 weeks early, kicking and screaming at 3lbs. G and Jax are both doing great. Thank you to all the doctors, nurses, and NICU for helping take care of our little boy.” The father-son duo was seen in extreme joy when they played together last year. Jaxson, at the age of six, experienced the fun of playing at the Masters during the par-3 contest along with his father, Gary Woodland. Hopefully, we might soon see the duo participating together.

With the support, the golfer showcased the best of his skill at 6th hole, 140-yards. The American professional hit a wedge, which landed in the back-left corner but spun back to find the hole. Looking at father in action, Jaxson also joined in at the last hole. He helped his father to close out. Woodland said, “He’s thought about it all day. He’s known that was going to be his shot. He told me to hit it a lot closer than that, so I was apologizing I didn’t hit it closer for him.” After closing with the putter, the spectator observed the duo jumping and celebrating the great putt. The wholesome moment melted the hearts of fans and got praised. He even shared cute memories of the family on social media during the Masters in 2024. His kids and wife even took part in the par-3 contest at the Masters.
With a cute and supportive family, the golfer is currently making a mark with his performance at the Houston Open. As the ongoing fourth round, he is at T3 with under 15 score. Will he be able to clinch his first victory of the season? Share your thoughts with us in the comments below.
