We all know that the golf season is heating up, and the DP World Tour Playoffs are just around the corner! As the final stretch of the 2024 Race to Dubai, these playoffs are the ultimate showdown for the world’s top golfers. But have you ever wondered how they actually work? The DP World Tour Playoffs consist of two Rolex Series events, the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship which is starting from Nov 7-10, and the DP World Tour Championship starting from Nov 14-17.

The format is simple – the top 70 available players tee off in Abu Dhabi, and only the top 50 make it to the season finale in Dubai. Okay, fine, it’s not that simple, and that’s why we have brought you the perfect guide so you know what the format actually is!

We have already made it clear that there are 70 players playing in the Abu Dhabi event with only 50 making it to the next one. But how do you make it to the top 50? Well, the players earn Race to Dubai Ranking Points based on their finishing position, with elevated points up for grabs, 9,000 in Abu Dhabi and 12,000 in Dubai.

The prize money is staggering, with a $10m prize fund for the DP World Tour Championship. Plus, the top ten players in the final 2024 Race to Dubai Rankings will share a $6m bonus pool, with the Number One player earning $2m, per the official DP World Tour website.
