Living a life where you can chase your passion is incredible, but having someone to share all those moments—both the highs and the lows—takes it to a whole different level. PGA Tour pro Davis Thompson experienced that firsthand in 2024 when he claimed his first PGA Tour victory.
Thompson’s rise in golf has been steady since turning pro in 2021. He quickly found success on the Korn Ferry Tour, earning his first win in 2022, and by 2023, he had climbed to a career-high world ranking of 59. That same year, he nearly claimed his first PGA Tour victory at The American Express, only to finish just behind Jon Rahm. But while his career was taking off, his personal life was hitting even greater heights—starting with a proposal to his longtime girlfriend, Holly Grace Robinson, and eventually marrying her.
The two first met in high school but didn’t start dating until college, making their relationship official in September 2020. After getting engaged at Botanic in Alabama in late November 2022, they initially set their wedding date for December 16, 2023. However, life had other plans. With Robinson’s mother battling cancer, the couple decided to move up the ceremony, tying the knot in an intimate gathering in Auburn on May 27, 2023.

Despite the emotional rollercoaster, Robinson remained by Thompson’s side through it all, including when he finally broke through with his first PGA Tour victory at the 2024 John Deere Classic. She stood on the sidelines, witnessing the moment he had worked so hard for. Reflecting on her impact in his winner’s press conference, Thompson made it clear how much she meant to him.
“Yeah, she means everything to me,” he said. “We knew each other in high school; started dating in college. So I’ve known her forever. She’s my best friend and I’m just — I felt a lot more comfortable this year having her on the road with me and traveling together. Last year, it kind of got lonely just because we weren’t married yet until May. Even then I felt like I was still kind of traveling alone. It’s been awesome to have her by my side. Wouldn’t want anybody else.”
During their honeymoon, Thompson took a moment to reflect on how their wedding day had changed, sharing a heartfelt message on Instagram. “Crazy to think that we were supposed to get married today,” he wrote. “God stepped in though, and provided another plan that was far better than what we had originally planned. I pray that if you’re reading this you find hope in Christ this season as we celebrate not only the birth of our Savior but His saving Grace that’s given to those who repent and put their faith in Him.”

Robinson always had an eye for fashion, which led her to pursue a degree in apparel merchandising, design, and production management at Auburn University. During her college years, she gained hands-on experience through internships at Ivory & White Bridal Boutique and Behind the Glass, a well-known women’s clothing store in Auburn. She graduated in April 2021, around the same time Thompson earned his sports management degree from the University of Georgia.
As for what she’s up to now? That part remains a bit of a mystery. Whether she’s working in fashion or focusing on life with Thompson, one thing is certain—she’s been by his side through every major milestone. And given how far they’ve come together, there’s no doubt she’ll be there for whatever comes next.
