For the younger Fitzpatrick brother, golf truly is life and beyond. While he may be the lesser known among the two, Alex Fitzpatrick sure is in love with golf courses and his clubs. And if you were him, you would too. After all, it was through this that he met the love of his life – Rachel Keuhn.
Their love story goes way back. From being in the same college to supporting each other on the course (yes, Keuhn is a golfer too!) to their meet-cute was indeed a bloom of a long-term college romance!

Rachel Keuhn went to high school in Asheville and had already taken home three NCISAA Division II state titles. She also became the Golf Athlete of the Year in 2018, and that’s when she knew this was what she had to pursue. Keuhn thus, decided to attend Wake Forest University in 2019, where she could balance both her academics and golfing career.
Alex Fitzpatrick also played golf as a freshman at Wake Forest. He was a year senior to Keuhn. While Keuhn played for the Demon Deacons, the women’s golf team, Alex Fitzpatrick played in the men’s team, alongside Cam Young. And golfing at the university brought the toda-couple together. Alex and Rachel met for the first time at a golf event on November 27, 2020.

Although Matt, who won the 2022 US Open, is often sourced out to the more talented of the two brothers, Alex revealed that it is his girlfriend who proves to be more of a challenge on the course. The duo clearly have chemistry on the course too! And it really showed early this year when Alex was right beside Rachel on the course in one of her events!

Fitzpatrick became Keuhn’s new caddie
Rachel Keuhn appeared at the Augusta National Women’s Amateur for the fourth time in April this year. The golfer used to have her mother, Brenda Corrie Keuhn, caddie for her on the greens. However, this year she switched it up! Alex Fitzpatrick was made to drop his boyfriend duties for the weekend and instead take up the role of her looper.

Being a caddie, of course, was nothing new for Alex, considering he had been doing it for Matt since he was 13. However, like we mentioned earlier, Rachel is extremely competitive when it comes to anything golf, and that’s why for him the DP World Toru star was ever-s0-slightly scared. In an interview with Amanda Balionis, he even said, “It’s worse caddying for her [Kuehn] because I’ll get a little abused if I do something wrong.”
Their on-course partnership did turn fruitful, though, for Rachel Kuehn landed a T8 finish at the championship. She was 1-over at the event, but their relationship had amassed more birdies than one could count!
