Despite being one of golf’s greatest ever, Mickelson is even more famous for his controversies. After he joined the LIV Golf league, the golfer was highly scrutinized for his decision.

But there was a time when his own kids judged him for something he did off the field. It was during the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational in 2018 when fans were not talking about his game, but instead, his crazy dance moves. Before playing a beautiful opening round of 66 at the tournament, the golfer did something completely out of his comfort zone.

One of Mickelson’s well-known sponsors at the time, Mizzen and Main, released a video of the golfer earlier that day. And believe us when we say, it had nothing to do with his golfing skills. At the age of 48, Mickelson could be seen prancing, jumping, and even doing, well, the worm!

It was for a commercial that the brand was shooting and apparently wanted Mickelson to star in it. As expected, the internet went crazy after watching the video! Mickelson explained how he was not comfortable doing it at first, but was later convinced by his wife Amy.

Reportedly, his kids didn’t approve of what their father had done. When asked about how his kids reacted to seeing the video, he said, “How can you not be (embarrassed), you know? I’m sure they are, but they’re also used to it.”

On the other hand, his wife was completely in favor of him doing the commercial. “Amy said, ‘You should just tell them that you know how to do the worm.’” Mickelson recalled. But believe it or not, it was one of the most sensational videos of the year. And no matter how his kids reacted, Mickelson’s fans loved his moves in the advertisement.
