One spot is still open for the playoffs in the first season of TGL! Three teams have already made it to the knockouts with their exemplary performances. The Bay Golf Club has had an undefeated season so far, getting 4 outright wins in the 4 matches they have played so far. They have a match with LAGC before heading to the playoffs. Speaking of the Los Angeles Golf Club, they managed 3 wins and 1 overtime loss in their 4 matches. A win against TBGC will put them at the top of the table.

The last team confirmed for the playoffs is the Atlanta Drive Golf Club. They have a small shot at finishing second, but they don’t have to worry about qualification anymore. That’s why Justin Thomas and Patrick Cantlay have decided to step away from the tournament to focus on their preparation for the 2025 Arnold Palmer Invitational. The team has signed Nick Dunlap on a one-match contract to join Billy Horschel and Lucas Glover for the next round.

This might favor Jupiter Links GC, who are one of the teams fighting for the 4th spot on the leaderboard. But will a win against Atlanta Drive GC be enough for them to make it to the playoffs? Unfortunately, it won’t. Tiger Woods, Tom Kim, and Max Homa will have to depend on the result between the current 4th placed team, New York Golf Club, and Rory McIlroy’s Boston Common Golf to have a shot at making it into the finals.

An outright win for Boston Common Golf against NYGC will favor Jupiter Links GC the most. That means, all they will need to do is win their match against Atlanta Drive GC to take the 4th spot. They will be 1 point clear of NYGC in this situation.

However, the Jupiter Links might find it challenging if the Boston and New York game goes into overtime. In such a scenario, even if NYGC loses the game, they will still have the same points as Woods’s team even if the latter wins their match. It will all boil down to the Holes Won statistic. After 4 matches, JLGC has had 9 Holes Won while NYGC has 15. That means Tiger Woods & Co. will need to win by 7 more holes than what NYGC ends up with after their match.

The most challenging situation for Woods & Co. would be Jupiter Links GC winning in overtime and NYGC losing outright. In that case, they will still need to better the New Yorkers by 7 strokes, despite a loss. That will be far more difficult to achieve in a losing effort.

If Xander Schauffele and Rickie Fowler‘s NYGC do end up winning, then that will be the end of Jupiter Links GC’s journey in this season of TGL. Then their match against Atlanta Drive GC will only serve the purpose of entertainment. Woods’s team will learn about the same even before they enter the indoor arena. Tiger Woods’s intent will depend on NYGC’s results

The next match of TGL is only a few hours away with The Bay GC taking on LAGC for the first-place contest. It is scheduled to be played at 3:00 P.M. (EST) on March 3, 2025. This will be a battle of superiority rather than a fight for qualification. However, only 4 hours later, at 7:00 P.M. (EST), Boston Common Golf will play New York GC. Tiger Woods, Tom Kim, and Max Homa will be eagerly keeping an eye on this match.

Based on the result between NYGC and Boston Common Golf, the Jupiter Links GC will know if they still have a shot at qualification. They will prepare accordingly for their bout against Atlanta Drive, which is scheduled 24 hours later, on March 4, 2025 at 7:00 P.M. (EST). Although, the wildcard of Nick Dunlap might surprise them. But if the ball is still in their court, then the fans might just get to see some amazing strokeplay from Tiger Woods, who has always been hungry for competition. But neither NYGC nor Jupiter Links GC should forget that even Rory McIlroy‘s Boston Common Golf has a shot at qualifying if both the teams lose their matches.
