So what exactly happened? Sinatra, one of the greatest musical artists of the 20th century, saw his career peak in the late 1940s. However, by the early years of the next decade, his musical journey had stalled and hit rock bottom. So much so, that a show with a capacity of 3000 people hosted only 500, and everyone’s seats were upgraded to the front rows.
This took place in 1953 in Glasgow, where he had a couple of other concerts. Consequently, this all-time low stage motivated him to take an outing to refresh his mind. This is where it all took a turn.

Frank Sinatra revived by Ben Hogan’s career milestone
While in Scotland, Sinatra, who was an avid golfer; decided to attend the Open Championship. Ben Hogan was, possibly, one of the greatest golfers ever and was playing his first and only Open Championship there. With a glittering career spanning four decades, he is the fourth name on the list for the highest number of PGA Tour wins at 64. In addition, he has nine major titles in his name.
That year, Hogan had already won the Masters Tournament and U.S. Open, and anticipating a third win, Sinatra was excited. And in case it wasn’t obvious, Hogan won. With this, he snagged all three of the major championships of that year, and also completed his career’s grand slam. Unfortunately, though, this was also his last major win.
