Sergio Garcia is a name that everyone who follows golf has heard of. He is among the top golfers. The 16-time European Tour champion frequently enthralled the golfing community with his displays. However, a wave of controversy has been hanging over the Spaniard recently. The DP World Tour fined him for breaking their tournament rules after he joined LIV Golf last summer.
The 43-year-old also did not participate in the prestigious PGA Championship and was not able to deliver the magic on the course. In the midst of these chaotic rides, Garcia is giving his best to qualify for the U.S. Open. And with his tactics, he not only mesmerized the spectators, but also a fellow golfer.

Recently, Dan Rapaport shared a screenshot of Scott Harrington’s chat on his official Twitter account. The caption on the post reads: “From Scott Harrington, who played with Sergio yesterday when he grinded through the 36-hole sectional qualifier to make the U.S. Open. Pretty cool to see a pro who’s been around so long so impressed by one of his peers.”

Harrington talked about how Sergio Garcia and he played together at the 36-hole sectional qualifier to make the U.S. Open. Even though there were barely 40–50 people present, Garcia was playing to the best of his abilities. Harrington claimed that the game was really intense throughout and that he was completely taken aback by Sergio Garcia’s incredible ability to flush the ball. Harrington and Garcia had never previously played together. And Garcia’s putting and shot-making techniques impressed him the most.
It’s also every golfer’s dream to play with the legend himself, Tiger Woods. Harrington is no exception. In addition, he brought up Woods in the conversation and said he had never played with the GOAT.
Fans react to the Dan Rapaport’s tweet
Garcia has faced criticism from fans for switching to LIV Golf. His switch to Greg Norman’s league also meant that he dropped in the OWGR rankings. Garcia, however, has the support of his ardent followers in a downhill spiral.

It's a disgrace he was not included in the PGA Championship this year.

No one has ever questioned Sergio’s shot making ability, just everything else professional about him

How lovely, something nice is said about him. Shows he still can impress someone.

I'll never forget when I heard him hit a 3 Wood at TPC Sawgrass for the first time. It just sounded different than every other shot I heard all day from every player.

“He’s still got it” OF COURSE HE DOES! Like why was that even added. Sergio would destroy 80% of PGA players in match play. It’s getting real tiring seeing people think these guys can’t golf anymore just because they went to a competing tour. It’s mental illness !
— yungkuch (@YungKuch) May 23, 2023
However, Garcia cannot escape some fans’ negative comments.
The hyperbole here is off the charts. No I will not “watch” for a 43 year old who hasn’t contended since like 2015.

Holy shit you’re telling me Sergio Garcia is a great ball striker!? Get the fuck out of here!!!
— Andy (@no_rain_checks) May 23, 2023
