Ahead of the final round on Sunday, the Wells Fargo Championship can witness a new winner on the horizon. Colorado-born Wyndham Clark is arguably in the form of his life, which could translate to a PGA Tour victory if he keeps his nerve in the final round.

That being said, with a number of competitors hunting for the top spot, Clark faces an uphill battle on Sunday. And a suspected injury, which was plainly visible this week, may just add to his woes!

The 29-year-old golfer arrived at Quail Hollow in amazing form, having secured three top-6 finishes in his last five PGA Tour appearances. But few would have chosen Clark as the winner of the Wells Fargo Championship, an expectation that could soon turn into reality on Sunday.

But while Clark seems confident of making it over the line, eagle-eyed fans observed something weird on the golfer’s right knee. From closer inspection, it looks like a knee brace, which means the Arizona resident is carrying an injury through the tournament.

While the seriousness of the injury hasn’t been revealed, the issue could become a barrier to Clark’s maiden PGA Tour win. But physical hurdles aside, how is the golfer feeling ahead of an all-important Sunday round?

Well, as per him, it’s just another “challenge,” and a “fun” one nonetheless!

Despite his winless record on the PGA Tour, Clark has been a standout performer in the last few events. He secured a solo fifth spot at the Valspar Championship in March before following that up with a sixth-place finish at the Corales Puntacana Championship.

More importantly, he has been in stunning form this week at the Wells Fargo Championship. Incredibly, the golfer was awfully short of a rare record when he made 17 out of 18 greens on Saturday. The achievement is considered even more unique than a hole-in-one, but the 29-year-old wasn’t really bothered.

But with merely a two-stroke lead ahead of the final round, what was Clark’s approach for his big day? “I’m excited to see how I handle the pressure,” he said after his Saturday performance. “It’s going to be a fun challenge. Obviously, it’s going to be tough, I have one of the best players in the world right behind me and a bunch of other good players. I’m just really looking forward to the challenge tomorrow.”
