Tensions are reaching their zenith as the 2023 CPKC Women’s Open reached its halfway mark at the Shaughnessy Golf Course. The golfers in the top 62 spots make the weekend cut and gear up to play the third round. Meanwhile, the top players in the leaderboard will look to maintain their position to get a cut of the $2.5 million prize pool. And contending for the title and money is none other than the former No.1 Jin Young Ko.

The South Korean golfer had a solid two rounds in Canada as she placed herself in the T3 position. But, in a surprise of sorts, Young Ko revealed she has her eyes on a completely different prize. The golfer took to her interview on Friday, leaving many startled and curious.

Golf is a game that comes with a lot of mental pressure. But Ko has kept herself calm throughout the time as she took to the Shaughnessy Golf course. The golfer was “feeling good” as she revealed her plans post the second round.

In the press conference that took place on Friday, the South Korean professional opened up about her overall game. The golfer also explained what her attitude meant.

“If I say I’m feeling good, that means I don’t care about the future. I mean, I am really confident about hitting some balls. I am doing it well. Focused shot by shot,” she said.

The 28-year-old said she wanted to drink the iced cappuccino from Tim Horton’s. “Yeah, I need sleep but I need coffee too right now,”  she said referring to her favorite drink.

The competition is halfway through with the title and the prize money within her reach. However, the LPGA icon had her priorities set straight in her mind from the start. The golfer had earlier mentioned her love for the brand which prompted the question about Tim Horton’s. Let’s take a closer look at it!

Jin Young and her wish for a partnership

The 15X LPGA Tour winner had mentioned in an interview post the first round that she has visited the Canadian coffeehouse known as Tim Horton’s. She even joked about how she would like to receive a sponsorship deal from the $13.3 billion giants as she expressed her love for its drinks.

Ko has been very famous for keeping herself calm and lighthearted during such an important event.
