Fresh off a near-perfect performance at the LIV Singapore event, Spaniard Sergio Garcia is leaving no stone unturned to get one step further. The seasoned golfer has been hopping on some new-age exercises in his older days to make the most of his situation. His recent Instagram post features a mash-up of the same, followed by a lengthy ice bath.

Yet, all of it comes in the face of an impending crisis. After the LIV golfers lost the court battle against the DP Tour, the European body fined its defectors a hefty sum. While the majority have paid their checks, Garcia hasn’t yet responded to the penalty, which now could possibly drive his former Tour to bombard further action against him.

After months of poor displays, the 43-year-old turned back time with a herculean performance at LIV Golf’s recent event. Playing at the Sentosa Golf Club in Singapore, Garcia rocketed to the summit of the leaderboard with a score of seventeen-under-par in the 54-hole event.

However, he eventually lost out in a playoff battle against the RangeGoats star Talor Gooch, who continued his exceptional form by securing back-to-back victories. Yet, it was a performance that won over the hearts of Garcia’s legion of fans.

To get back to full fitness ahead of LIV Golf’s Tulsa event, Garcia decided to sweat it out in the gym. Sporting a Fireballs GC T-shirt, the veteran golfer made the hard yards, before concluding with a harsh ice bath for recovery!

Yet, his days of vigor could be affected by his ignorance of the DP World Tour fine, which could get heftier with each passing day.

Among the many court battles involving the LIV Golf Series, the DP Tour has won its case over the LIV golfers’ appeal to play in the Scottish Open. The decision was made by the Sports Resolutions, which prompted the defectors to breach of conduct for playing in the rebel league.

Soon afterward, seventeen former DP Tour members were fined with six-figure penalties. While sixteen of these defectors have paid their dues, Garcia hasn’t budged. He remains the sole member to not have yet handed the Tour his money.

“Sergio Garcia has not paid his £100,000 [$126,000] fine, nor has he given any indication that he intends to. We will therefore take appropriate action if he continues not to respect the Sport Resolutions panel’s decision,” the DP World Tour said in a statement.
