However, despite all his great qualities, the golfer recently broke the hearts of all his fans on the course. What was Cameron Smith’s approach toward playing at the 2023 Masters?
Smith shocked millions of his fans with his move to LIV Golf right after winning the Open Championship last year. And like numerous other Saudi rebels, fans also put the Australian star under tons of speculations questioning his golfing skills. However, when Augusta National allowed LIV Golf players to appear at the Masters, Smith looked at the opportunity as a way to prove how Saudi players are equally talented when it comes to performing on the field.
“I think it’s just important for LIV guys to be up there,” the player said. “I think there’s a lot of chatter about these guys don’t play real golf…we’ve still got a lot of guys that can play some really serious golf.” Although he could not make it to the top 20 at the end of the final round of the Masters, his fellow LIV stars Brooks Koepka and Phil Mickelson definitely proved his point with their epic finishes!
