We all know that Caitlyn Clark the WNBA’s reigning Rookie of the Year is making a name for herself on the basketball court but not everyone knows that she has a not-so-hidden affinity for golf as well. Clark is now taking her talents to the green and will be seen competing from November 11-17 as she will team up with golf legend Annika Sorenstam at The ANNIKA. This tournament is the penultimate LPGA Tour tournament.
If you think the fans are not excited about the tournament, you will be highly wrong my friend. Even Annika Sorenstam is stoked about Caitlyn Clark joining the tournament and can you blame her? Clark’s explosive impact on women’s basketball has been breathtaking and Sorenstam can’t wait to see her in action. When asked about Caitlyn Clark’s upcoming participation in the tournament Sorenstam couldn’t contain her excitement and said, “No, I’m excited to meet her too, I have not met her, um, no, it’s super cool”, per LPGA Tour Youtube Channel.
The female golfer continued with listing the things she admires Clark for and said, “What can I say, I think, um, well, first of all, what she’s done, uh, the last year or so, it’s just amazing, uh, to go from college, um, golf that she did, and then come out and be, I, I mean, I thought she was dominant, but that’s just my opinion.” Sorenstam also applauds Clark for being the role model she is for young girls. “I think it’s awesome for young girls to have a role model like Caitlyn. She’s going to give um our tournament some love, and hopefully, we give her some love back, and I think it’s going to be wonderful”, she said.

What sparked Caitlin Clark’s interest in golf?
The WNBA sensation Caitlin Clark who has been praised by LeBron James himself, is shattering the notion that one can’t excel in multiple fields. Because beyond dominating basketball courts Clark is also a skilled golfer. In an interview with TJ Sport Queens, Clark shared the story of her golfing origins. “Yeah, definitely my dad”, she said when asked about who introduced her to the sport. She recalled her first golf clubs which were a pink set she received as a birthday gift and described them as “super cheap and horrible.”

Clark recalls the time she was begging her dad, Brent, to take her golfing on ‘rare’ free weekends from soccer, softball, and basketball. “I would beg my dad… to take me golfing”, she said. The WNBA player also played with her brother which helped her polish her skills. Now, Clark’s dad proudly keeps her old golf clubs which have been replaced by branded ones. Clark’s multifaceted talents and passion for golf make her an inspiration which proves that being a “Jack of all trades” doesn’t mean being a master of none.
