In it, Smith stated that he is not a motivational speaker but he let his team take a month off. He is sure that they all worked out their games. This will help them achieve more substantial growth in the second half of the year. “We didn’t really get off to the greatest start of the season. Hopefully, a big second half of the year for Team Ripper,” said Smith.

The course is exceeding players’ expectations in terms of challenges. Sergio Garcia previously said as much. In the first round, there were double bogeys and triple bogeys but no eagles. On the individual leaderboard following the first day of competition, Dustin Johnson is tied for the first spot with Jason Kokrak. Anirban Lahiri is at third, while Smith is presently ranked tied fourth. He recorded four bogeys and six birdies.
Bryson DeChambeau‘s team, the Crushers GC, is in first place on the team rankings. All compliments to Anirban Lahiri, Paul Casey and Charles Howel III.
