Did you know that AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am was started by the famous singer Bing Crosby? Yes, the Pro-Am was previously known as the Crosby Clambake, and the name was changed when AT&T became the title sponsor. Recently, Malbon Golf and Adidas Golf decided to pay homage to Crosby and his contribution to golf.

The two brands made an exclusive, limited-edition brand line inspired by Crosby, and the visuals are out. LPGA Tour awarded rookie Rose Zhang shared her photos of the outfit. But as the trend is going with Malbon Golf, with fans brutally trolling their ambassadors like Jason Day, the golf world did not react positively this time as well.

It was the year 1937 when the legendary actor, musician, and comedian Bing Crosby started the “Bing Crosby Clambake” as a way to bring celebrities and PGA tour players together for a fun round of golf. It has been over five decades since the first tee-off took place at Pebble Beach Golf Course, yet the event remains a constant on the PGA Tour calendar.

Before the 2024 edition, Malbon Golf and Adidas partnered up to create a limited-edition product line inspired by Crosby and the swing era. The line made for men and women also introduces two new shoes from Adidas. Rose Zhang is one such ambassador for Malbon Golf.

As a result, she was seen wearing the women’s collection. The 1x LPGA Tour winner posted on Instagram wearing the boxier polos with white culotte pants. Her Instagram caption read, “A lotta love for the new Crosby Collection from @adidasgolf x @malbongolf.”

Well, it seems the Malbon golfers don’t have much luck when it comes to getting their fashion choices approved by fans. For Jason Day, his pants were named “clown pants,” and this time Zhang’s pants earned the moniker of culotte pants. Some liked it, while many were not on board with the retro fashion vibe.

Truthfully, Rose Zhang did not get trolled by her fans. They were politely showing their displeasure with her fit. More so with the pants, which did look good, but for some, it was not practical on the golf course. One fan spoke about the same and shared their opinion on the fit in the best way. First, they called Zhang “Great” and then talked about how the pants were a no-go. They said, “Unfortunately, I am not a fan. Rose Zhang is great but that outfit has to go.”

Another user shared mutual feelings that they liked Zhang and were her big fans, but when it came to the outfit, it was a no-go. They said, “I’m a big fan of yours but this is straight up the most hideous s**t I’ve ever seen on a golf course.”

One fan jokingly sympathized with Zhang. They requested that she not let Malbon Golf do her dirty by getting her these clothes, saying, “Don’t let them do this to you Rose🙏.”

While one fan recalled all the other products by Malbon Golf and how they were not particularly impressive, they said that Malbon Golf cannot always get away after producing bad products and said, “Malbon can’t keep getting away with this.”

One user was furious that they claimed Malbon Golf had to be canceled because of their bad fits for golfers. They said, “Malbon needs cancelled.”

This user pulled out the practicability card. While the pants were nice and looked good on Zhang, she couldn’t wear them on a windy day while playing golf. They rightly pointed out, saying, “You aint wearing that on a windy day.”

Although the collaboration between Malbon and Adidas Golf delivered a hot shot at the 30s or 40s fashion, the golf fans seemed appalled by the products. What was your initial reaction to Malbon Golf’s Crosby Collection? Tell us in the comments!
