Last year, the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions didn’t face many weather issues. The LPGA Tour stars were playing under beautiful sunlight on all four rounds. This ensured that Lydia Ko didn’t face any obstacles on her way to victory. There was some weather issue at Lake Nona a few days ago. However, Nelly Korda confirmed that it’s quite sunny and clear right now during her press conference for the event.
The AccuWeather website confirms Korda’s comments about the conditions at Lake Nona. The average temperature from January 30 to February 2 is around 80° Fahrenheit. The first round of the event shows clear skies and sunny weather at around 80° throughout the day. The wind speed should be at 9 mph heading east.
It gets a bit wayward on the second day; i.e. January 31, 2025. The temperature goes up to an average of 83° throughout the day. While the heat won’t trouble the players much, they might experience a few stoppages in gameplay. That is due to the possibility of precipitation towards the end of the day. The wind speed and direction are 10 mph towards the South.
The weather might play a key role in the penultimate round of the LPGA Tour event. The temperature drops down to 76° with an 88% probability of rain. Golfers might also experience bad light as most of the day can be covered with clouds. However, the wind speed shouldn’t go above 7 mph as it moves from West to North and back to West.
Fortunately, the weather does improve on the final day at Lake Nona with 81° temperature. The wind speed drops to 6 mph going towards the North with a 12% chance of thunderstorms. However, the probability of rain remains higher at 62%.

Who can win the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions 2025?
While the weather might play a spoilsport, there are some LPGA Tour stars who won’t let that affect them. Nelly Korda is certainly a great contender to overcome the challenge at Lake Nona. Korda has come off an amazing season. The 2024 Rolex Player of the Year has become a little too familiar with winning. There is no doubt that she poses a major threat to all the other competitors.
The defending champion; Lydia Ko also had an amazing 2024. She won 3 LPGA Tour titles, including the prestigious AIG Women’s Open. That was the third major of her career. Moreover, having won the last version of the tournament, there is no doubt that Ko is quite familiar with the course even when disrupted by bad weather.

Another top contender at Lake Nona is Ayaka Furue. The 2024 Amundi Evian Champion dominated the field during her last appearance at the Tournament of Champions. While Furue didn’t win the tournament in 2024, she still finished quite high on the leaderboard at T4. Overall, she had a splendid season last year, getting 12 top-10 finishes from the 23 cuts she made.
