A PGA Tour loyalist, Rory McIlroy, has been one of the strongest critics of the breakaway league. But recently, the golfer shared his new reformed stance on LIV Golf, which garnered him a plethora of negative comments. Amidst all the noise and chaos, a two-time DP world tour winner has come forward and shed some light on McIlroy’s personality on and off the course. The Scottish golfer’s confession could potentially break another glass ceiling for who McIlroy truly is.

The Irishman is known for his strong, unapologetic personality; making a good first impression might not be McIlroy’s strongest suit. But there is another side to the four-time major winner that is not often seen by the public. According to his fellow DP World Tour comrade, McIlroy is a man of many talents; apart from being a terrific golfer, the 34-year-old might have a future in real estate as well.

After acquiring much success on his 2023 Ryder Cup debut, Robert MacIntyre was up for a better finish for the season. The 27-year-old earned his 2024 PGA Tour card courtesy of his great run on the DP World Tour. With the card in his hand, MacIntyre is all set to make his American dream come true with his PGA Tour debut.

The first step to fulfilling his dream was for the two-time DP World Tour winner to cross the Atlantic Ocean and start a life in the States. For the resident of Oban, the change was a little difficult to grapple with, and during that time, the 27-year-old turned to his Ryder Cup teammate for help, none other than Rory McIlroy. MacIntyre explained that he was first under the impression that the 24-time PGA Tour winner would be different to him, as “it’s Rory. He’s up there, I’m down here,”

However, after the Ryder Cup, everything changed. McIlroy and MacIntyre had gotten close enough for him to take real-state advice from him. MacIntyre said to the reporters about his move, “I spoke to a lot of the guys – Shane, Tommy, Sepp. I spoke to a lot and just wanted their input. Being part of that team has opened up those kinds of doors for me to get the help of, I mean, one of the best players ever [McIlroy] to play the game.”

The Scottish golfer got the opportunity to experience the excellence of McIlroy through the 2023 Ryder Cup. If he had not played the patriotic battle, the MacIntyre could not have had a chance of befriending the likes of McIlroy and Lowry. Now, after getting the precious advice, MacIntyre has settled in, and this is where curiosity kicks in. What place in the USA does the 27-year-old call home? And what is next for him on the PGAT?

Coming from the town of Oban, McIntyre wanted a place with stable weather and all the necessities included. He described wanting to find a place that will cater to his family as well when he is out on the greens playing the game. He said, “I need an airport nearby as I want my family to come out. I want things for them to do. When I am out practising, they need something to do, not just sit at home.”
