Nicklaus confirmed that he turned down a $100 million offer to become the CEO of LIV Golf a few months back.He said, “
I turned it down. Once verbally, and once in writing. I said, ‘Guys, I have to stay with the PGA Tour. I helped start the PGA Tour.’”Nicklaus’ opinion on this issue went viral. Twitterati, apparently, had lots to say.

Nicklaus had to turn it down. He did help launch the PGA Tour. It would have killed his legacy. However, Norman and Phil have every reason to launch the LIV Tour. It was time to create competition and mix it up. Good luck to them. They’ve already made a mark in less than a year.
