The much-awaited Showdown has announced its final dates. The playoff between PGA Tour Pros Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy vs LIV Golfers Brooks Koepka and Bryson DeChambeau is scheduled for November 17. To make the event all the more viral, LIV Golf has already shared its promotional poster.
As much as the Northern Irishman is excited about the playoff, he is time and again showing his hatred towards the breakaway league. However, due to the Showdown, he has found himself included in the Saudi-backed league’s poster. A few days ago, the official X account of LIV Golf shared the promotional poster which had his face along with the other participants.
He then took pride of his place in a video post from the LIV team soon after, posting it on his official account. He used the voiceover from LIV Golf’s commentator Arlo White and described the match as, “the golf event of the year.” Well, nothing leaves out the eyes of the Flushing It Golf Page. The poster went live on October 15. A few hours ago, they took to their official X account, and zoomed in to Rory McIlroy‘s face, right below the LIV Golf logo. They captioned it, “How did I miss this? Rory with the LIV logo above his head and appearing on official LIV socials. What a world.”

The golf community speculates Rory McIlroy making a move to LIV Golf

Could Rory McIlroy's face on the LIV poster hint at a shocking switch to the rival league?
Have an interesting take?
Ever since its inception in 2022, the breakaway league has managed to bag several high-paying golfers like Phil Mickelson, Brooks Koepka, and others. On the other hand, players like Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy, and Jon Rahm, despite several offerings rejected the place. However, Rahm had a change of mind in 2023.
Rumors of him joining LIV Golf were already floating, but Rahm stated that he chose not to make the move. But in 2023, the rumors turned into facts. There was already a big divide in the golf world. And while he had earlier confessed that he would need a lot more than money to make the shift, he took up the offer because of his family. This came as a rather shock and disappointment to the fans. They are pretty much hoping only the worst ever since.
Now, seeing the poster, some of them are speculating that the same thing might happen in the case of Rory McIlroy. They left comments like, “Only a matter of time…. 🕰️” and “He’s done a deal”.

Rory McIlroy has come close to clinching the trophy twice. Once at the Amgen Irish Open, where he ended up bagging a 2-under in the Sunday round, giving away the win to Rasmus Hojgaard. And the following week at the BMW PGA Championship, where he was defeated by Billy Horschel in the Sunday playoff. Since LIV Golf has competitions over three days, covering 54 holes, one of the fans stated that he might have a better chance of winning. They wrote, “Rory would kill it in LIV since it 3 days instead of 4 😂”.
While one of them simply commented, “Can you even “miss” something that doesn’t exist,” stating that LIV Golf is not just a game of individual championships.

It also has team championships, and every team has four members, including one captain. Stating how great a captain the Northern Irishman would make, one of them wrote, “Give @McIlroyRory a team with @livgolf_league and he can bring anyone he wants.”
