Ladies European Tour heads to India for the 15th edition of the Hero Women’s Indian Open. With a field of 120 players, it will feature three of Race to Costa Del Sol Ranking’s top-five, including the native LET Pro Diksha Dagar.

Dagar, who has been in her career-best form this season, will also look to topple Celine Boutier from top of the Race to Costa Del Sol, along with Swedish Johanna Gustavsson. As past winners and up-and-coming stars buckle themselves up for the 26th LET event, here is everything you need to know about it.

DLF Golf & Country Club is one of India’s signature courses, having hosted the Hero Women’s Indian Open for the past 16 years. In fact, it also hosted the men’s Johnny Walker Classic in 2008 and Avantha Masters from 2010 to 2012.

One of the most unique courses is The Gary Player championship course that the management body threw open in 2015. The complete overhaul of the layout at once took up the difficulty level a notch higher.

Nestled between Lake Nine and the Quarry Nine, with deep-faced bunkers, striking water hazards and swelling fairways, the sprawling course measures over a whopping 7,684 yards. Needless to say, this unique course will pose a massive challenge to the LET stars.

Sponsors of the LET event

Hero and Vida are two title sponsors. While DLF is the presenting sponsor. The event is sanctioned by the Women’s Golf Association of India, the Ladies European Tour, Royal & Ancient, and the Indian Golf Union.

Who are the players you should watch out for?

The strong field of 120 players features three of the top-five in the Race to Costa Del Sol Ranking: Swedish star Johanna Gustavsson, host country’s Diksha Dagar and Thai golfer Trichat Cheenglab. Lisa Pettersson, Carmen Alonso, Nuria Iturrioz and Smilla Tarning Soenderby are also in the fray.

Gustavsson currently is nipping at the heels of Celine Boutier in the Race to Costa Del Sol rankings. Boutier, who has won two Majors this season, is placed at the no.1 position, with 1792.88 points.

That’s well within reach of both the Swedish and the Indian Dagar (currently at 4), as a runner-up finish will see them netting 320 points. If Dagar can make it, she will make history as the first Indian woman to do so. Here is the full list of golfers teeing it up at the DLF Golf & Country Club.
