Steve William was on the bag for Tiger for approximately more than 10 years, from 1999 till 2011. Williams saw all the highs and lows in Tigers’ career. Woods also had probably one of the best years in his life as a professional back in 2000 with Steve. When he achieved what is known as Tiger Slam in golf.
Moreover, recently on a podcast, namely Chasing Majors, Steve Williams spoke about Tigers’ rivalry with Vijay Singh. Steve gave us an insight into how Eldrick and Singh shared a love and hate relationship.
Steve said, “I mean, there’s no player that spends more time practicing than Vijay did. And obviously a very, very good player meant he had a stretch there, you know, one year where he was like, almost as good as tight or, you know, if not better than tiger, and he had that amazing stretch there.”
He added, “So yeah, he was always a threat than always thought it was a great rivalry because it was sort of a love hate sort of thing. You know, they both love each other, hate each other sort of thing. So, you know, they both have deep respect for each other’s game that they always want to beat each other’s brains.”
I have a huge amount of respect for @tigerwoods, what he’s brought to golf and his work ethic. Congrats on your @GolfHallofFame induction, Tiger. #golfhalloffame #tigerwoods pic.twitter.com/rEVYZz3uAI
