One of the lesser-known players on the circuit, Murray turned pro back in 2015 and has managed a single victory on the tour, at the 2017 Barbasol Championship. But his biggest moment of acclaim for golfing reasons came recently at the players’ meeting, where he allegedly told four-time major championship winner Rory McIlroy to “f*** off.”
However, Murray has come out and cleared the air over the disturbing incidents. Reportedly, the 29-year-old has revealed what made him lose his head at the table. “I’m not necessarily pissed off with what has transpired, it’s more just how it’s been handled with Jay [Monahan] and everyone,” he said.
Furthermore, Murray made his opinion clear on Monahan’s position moving forward. “That’s why I said what I said. He should resign. We need a fresh face.”

Having remained quiet for large parts of the meeting, former world number one McIlroy found it apt to respond to Murray with a sly dig. “Just play better, Grayson,” he said, which undoubtedly left a frustrated Murray fuming, which resulted in the expletive.
Confirmed. They were cordial and pleasant post meeting. We chatted as a group of players and we were laughing about the comment. No beef or hard feelings either way
