Bubba Watson once shared insight into Tiger Woods and his evolving game
Tiger Woods has not had the simplest journey to success. The pro golfer has endured multiple ups and downs during the course of his professional career. He has witnessed multiple downfalls throughout his journey and has also rebuilt himself from the ashes multiple times.
One such downfall that he faced was in 2011. This was the time when Woods was going through major upheavals in both his professional and personal lives. The pro golfer also faced a huge drop in his World ranking during that time.
When all was not well in Woods’s life, fellow pro golfer, Bubba Watson was quick to share his advice with the Golfing sensation. Bubba is a multiple-time major champion, with victories at the Master’s Tournament in 2012 and 2014. The pro golfer got real with Tiger and bluntly shared his opinions.
He said, “Sometimes I think some of the great players, get too wrapped up in the mental part. I think Tiger is going the wrong way. I think he’s so mental right now with his swing. Just go out there and play golf. He used to hit shots, used to bomb it, used to do all that stuff. In 2000 and ’97 I think he did pretty well. He won the Masters by 48 shots or whatever he won it by. But I think sometimes he gets carried away with that. And a lot of guys do. I think they take a step back.”
Bubba’s request for Tiger to not go the “wrong way” probably did make rounds with the pro golfer. He made a comeback that was termed as one of the biggest comebacks the world of golf has ever seen. By that point, Woods had
competed in 26 events without a victory. During the 2011 Chevron World Challenge, which he hosted, he eventually recovered. He won three times in 2012 and five times in 2013, regaining the top spot in the global golf rankings.Tiger and his first coach ever
In actuality, Tiger’s first instructor, Rudy Duran, had no idea that things would go the way they did for him when he was younger. Even though he was aware of Tiger’s skill in the sport, he did not anticipate him to develop into the “Tiger Woods” we know today.

In an interview, Rudy was questioned regarding his expectations for Woods’ career. He said, “I never really had the thought that he was going to change the game. I never thought I could see the future…he is really good…He beats everyone in his age group.”
Tiger worked hard to defy everyone’s predictions and climbed up the success ladder.
