Model Jena Sims got the gift of a lifetime when she welcomed her first child Crew with husband Brooks Koepka. As a first-time mother, she had to face a lot of things. After an unexpected premature delivery, things got complicated for her child and Crew had to spend 20 days in the NICU. 

Even after his discharge, things were tough. As a first-time mother, Jena had to suffer the biggest challenge of feeding her infant child. But in time the situation got better. And now Sims is ready to share her motherhood journey with positive words for other ladies.

Jena Sims gets candid about her motherhood struggles

Jena Sims is a frank lady and has been very vocal about all her struggles. Now that she is going through her first year as a mother, she is more than willing to share her fears and journey of feeding her child. A month ago ago, she made a breast implant confession. Days after that, she did a Get Ready with Me session on TikTok, where she took elaborated on her struggles.

The golfer’s wife gets a lot of questions about breastfeeding since she is pumping. “A fed baby is a fed baby. So do not put pressure on yourself if you are unable to feed for any reason. I am not gonna just talk about my journey because I didn’t know how it was gonna go,” she said. She didn’t put any pressure on herself when she was expecting, and since she was pre-natal she was scared whether she would be able to feed the baby or not.

With Crew being in the NICU, the doctors gave her a time frame of 52 weeks to feed. Fortunately, things have been going well for the mama and child. She does supplements and two bottles a day for him. Shedding light on her journey, Jena said that she got implants when she was 19 and in college. She was told by doctors at the time that it might affect her ability to feed. But so far so good. 

Sims also requested all the other new mothers to relax, since the case is different for every woman. Everybody is different and no woman should be too hard on herself, she said, and her fans agree.

Mother community resonates with Sims

The positive message of Jena Sims has been much loved by the mommy community. Other ladies who have gone through a similar situation expressed their own stories in the comments to her post.

This woman who walked a similar path as Jena shared her story. “Momma LOVE this and you!!! DITTO!!! We do what we can do!!! I pumped with both babies!!! And my son was 4 lbs, daughter 8 lbs….”

While another sympathized about how hard it is to pump in the morning. “Waking up to pump is so much harder than getting up to feed the baby😂😂 props to you mom!!!”

Sims’ thoughts found a supporter in this fan also. “A fed baby is a fed baby. Love that! We need to hear this more!”

A nurse also expressed her joy over the journey Sims is going through. “As an L&D nurse this is amazing! I’m so happy for you and your journey and helping support others who may have the same obstacles!”

Another lady with the same case and two kids also gave Jena her approval. “Love this!! Momma with implants (under the muscle) and breastfeed both kids for a year.”
