Giving some relief to Woods’ fans, the Open Championship winner Stewart Cink told Golf Channel that he checked on Tiger to know about his well-being. Apparently, Woods told him that he has started practicing! And though he hasn’t told Cink about what he has started practicing for, the latter thinks that this is a good sign.
Cink has played on the PGA Tour for a long time and has shared the golf course with Woods on many an occasion. During the 2006 WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational at Firestone South, the two were engaged in a playoff. Many years later, in 2021, Cink was asked what it was like playing with peak Tiger. Stewart had a lot of praise for his rival.
Acknowledging Woods for his strong mental game, Cink said, “How do you compete against that? I played with Tiger at least half a dozen times on Sunday, when he finished first. Just to see him at his best was a treat. It was demoralizing and it was inspiring kind of all at once.” Woods was a roaring figure in his prime and posed supreme quality on all levels.
This week, Cink will be performing at the World Wide Technology Championship in the El Cardonal at Diamante golf course in Mexico. This course has been designed by Tiger Woods, who was present there earlier in the week.

Stewart Cink thinks Woods is ready to jump into action
Speaking to the same channel, Cink expressed that Woods’ venture into practice is a sign of his heading back into the game. “So, that means he’s in go-mode for something, and I think we’re all pulling for him to feel as good as he can feel, and if he’s hitting golf balls, I think he’s going in the right direction.”
