The Solheim Cup is now just weeks away. The excitement for the International event is now arguably at its peak, with both the European and American teams now finalized. And among the notable players set to compete in this patriotic golf event is Rose Zhang.
Events like the Solheim Cup and the Ryder Cup undoubtedly require a close-knit team that can gel well together. However, it seems like that’s lacking on the American side when it comes to the three-time LPGA Tour winner who’s on the team and the 20-year-old youngster!

3x LPGA Tour Winner’s Perspective on Rose Zhang
During the press conference at the Queen City Championship, the American pro, Jennifer Kupcho, who is part of the 144-player field, was questioned about Rose Zhang’s presence on the squad, to which she responded with a single affirmative, “Yes.”
The interviewer further went on to mention that the 3-time LPGA Tour winner shared a unique bond with Zhang; after all, she had gone head-to-head with the youngster in Rose’s first pro event, where the youngster walked away with $412,500. They asked the LPGA star if she had ever talked to the 20-year-old about her Solheim Cup experience and if, in her opinion, Rose is capable enough to handle the pressure that comes with playing this patriotic event.
Kupcho answered with full honesty that she had not really interacted much with her at all. She further added, “I haven’t really talked to any of the rookies all that much, honestly.” The LPGA star cited the busy schedule before the Cup begins as the reason for that.

Ending on an optimistic note, Jennifer Kupcho pointed out that Zhang has played on one of the biggest stages in amateur golf and has also now been playing on the biggest stages of professional women’s golf, which makes her pretty well equipped to handle the pressure that comes along with the Solheim Cup.
Zhang, of course, even though the likes of Kupcho haven’t reached out to help her feel at ease, is more than excited for the event.

Zhang is excited for her dreamy Solheim Cup experience
The 20-year-old also made her debut on the LPGA Tour a couple of months ago. Since then, she has been compared to the legendary golfer and earned the label female Tiger Woods. She has proven herself to be one of the strongest competitors on the LPGA tour. She has added yet another feather to her cap by qualifying for the Solheim Cup.
Zhang secured her position on the Solheim Cup team by the grace of her rankings as the top-performing American player who did not initially qualify for the team based on her Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings. However, she expressed her excitement about playing on the stage where she gets to bring home such an honor. “It’s almost like a surreal experience that I can’t even imagine what it’s going to be like on the first tee,” she stated.
