Well, everyone knows that the golfer is currently in Paris for the Olympic golf tournament. However, that is not the only sport McIlroy is excited about! The golfer was recently seen holding the Q&A board, where he mentioned dressage as his favorite Olympic sport. But what is this sport that McIlroy loves so much? Dressage is an equestrian sport where horses and riders work together, performing a memorized routine that showcases their perfect partnership and skill.

And it’s no news; McIlroy has been a fan of dressage since 2014; you might remember this from the Facebook post he made that year. The post had a smiling McIlroy standing near a beautiful horse. And the golfer loves the horse so much that, in the caption, he said he would love to be reincarnated as the horse. The caption read, Had the most fascinating day at Ballydoyle and Coolmore Stud yesterday. When I die, I wouldn’t mind coming back as this guy!! #Galileo.”

McIlroy picked up on the sport during his time with ex-Caroline Wozniacki. He never thought that watching tennis would change the course of his golf game for the better. After seeing the dedication and hard work of the tennis players, he felt inspired to push himself harder. “They work and practice so hard that it made me realize that I probably could work harder. It gave me a little more motivation to go into the gym and hit more balls,” said the 26-time PGA Tour winner.

After that, he got so invested in the sport, and there has been no stopping him ever since. He met Steve McGregor, a fitness expert who had transformed another golfer’s body. Together, they used cutting-edge tech to analyze his swing and identify areas for improvement. They focused on building his lower body strength and core stability, and the results were amazing! He won the 2014 PGA Championship with a great score of 16 under par. Fans are excited to see the golfer put his skills to use at the 2024 Paris Olympics, but will he be able to win the gold medal? That is something only time can tell.
