Joaquin Niemann was having a dream start to the LIV Golf 2024 season! The Chilean golfer managed to surpass expectations by carding a record-low 59 in the first round in Mayakoba. But then he was hit by a two-stroke penalty in the second round. However, he still retains his top spot on the leaderboard.

How many LIV Golf events has Joaquin Niemann won?

The Chilean golfer joined the rival league in August 2022. Upon joining, he became the captain of the Torque GC team. Currently, the roster consists of newcomers Mito Pereira and Sebastian Munoz, along with Carlos Ortiz. The golfer has set a great example for his rookie team during the first round of Mayakoba by performing exceptionally well!
However, an individual victory at a LIV golf event still eludes Joaquin Niemann. His team, on the other hand, has been an all-round success over the last couple of years. In the last six regular-season events of 2023, Torque GC has won three times.
Every time the Torque GC skipper has celebrated alongside his team on the podium. However, LIV Golf Mayakoba has given him a chance to win his first individual title in the Saudi-funded league. While the golfer still awaits his maiden individual success in the Saudi-backed league, his record before joining the rival league was quite illustrious.
Torque GC captain’s achievements before LIV Golf
The Chilean golfer turned pro in 2018. Before moving ships in 2022, he spent four years in the traditional league and the European circuit. In his brief time on the American Tour, he managed to secure two PGA Tour wins. His maiden DP World Tour win came after he moved to LIV.

Joaquin Niemann won the Greenbrier Classic in 2019 and the Genesis Invitational in 2022 on the PGA Tour. In the 121 events that Niemann competed in, he was able to have three runner-up finishes, two T3 spots, thirteen top-5 finishes, and twenty-two top-10 finishes. The LIV Pro was able to successfully make the cut in 93 events.
After his defection, he was not allowed to compete on the PGA Tour, but he continued to play on the DPWT. As a result, in 2023, he won the ISPS Handa Australian Open on the other side of the ocean, marking his first victory on the European Tour.
