This weekend, Charlie Woods will be hobnobbing with the who’s who of the golf world. Not to say he is a stranger to this. Last year Tiger Woods’s young cub teed off with Hall of Famer, Nick Price. But this time, the teenager took a bold stride towards meeting Nelly Korda, John Daly, and last year’s PNC Championship winner, Vijay Singh, on the tee box.

Wood Jr. has garnered enough limelight not least because of his ties with a rather famous Stanford dropout. The 14-year-old has gone on to win multiple titles, shooting his career-best 66 a few months back and winning a state tournament with his school team. Now that the golf world has become aware of his latest feat, they couldn’t resist amping up the hype a notch further.

TWSpot reported that, at the 2023 PNC Championship, Charlie Woods will shoot from the same tee as Nelly Korda, Jim Furyk, John Daly, and Vijay Singh. At last year’s outing, the teenager was in the 65-72 years box with Nick Price and Sir Nick Faldo. But this time around, the 14-year-old will tee off from the 6,578 Yard box, whereas his father will start at the 7,106 yards.

Charlie Woods looks ready to hit the ball farther this time. Last year, Tiger Woods admitted that his teenager had outdriven him from the same tee once. Moreover, the Florida native is coming on the back of a solid year, that saw him garner multiple titles under his belt. His swing, too, bears an uncanny resemblance to his pop. In fact, Woods Jr.’s rivals in the PNC Championship have also heaped praises on the teenager.

Charlie Woods and John Daly II faced each other before at the 2021 PNC Championship. Although team Daly became the eventual winner, Daly II was mighty impressed. Recently, the young golfer said, I think if he does the right things, he can be great. Fits for his I mean, his golf swing is perfect for that young of an age.
