Paige Spiranac is an accomplished social media influencer with more than 10 million followers across all social platforms. She is loved by millions. However, there was a time when she came close to quitting her career due to pressure from the public.

“It was just a tough week for me,” a teary-eyed Spiranac said to news outlets. “A lot of stress.” The then 22-year-old had just attended the Dubai Ladies Masters, a Ladies European Tour event, and scored a 12-over par from the first two rounds, not making the cut.  

Notably, she was still a social media icon at the time. And many speculated that Spiranac got the spot to play because of her popularity and not her talent. And all the negative comments led her to break down after the event.

“I feel like I was invited here,” she further added“And I wanted to prove that it was for other reasons than just my social media.” However, since she couldn’t advance to the final rounds, the golfer couldn’t prove her golfing ability, and it made her sad. 

Paige Spiranac took a bold decision after the LET tournament!

“I’m definitely going to not look at my phone for a while,” Spiranac said after the tournament. “Probably take a break from social media just to kind of step away and re-evaluate everything.”

Additionally, the golfer explained that she would consider whether to continue being a professional golfer or not. Notably, Spiranac quit golfing soon after the event; however, not before showing critiques of her talent in golf.

Has Spiranac won a professional tournament? 

The Ladies European Tour event had led her to lose confidence in her game. However, she didn’t quit being a professional golfer then.

She won her first and only title on the Cactus Tour in 2016. The golfer won the event at the Orange Tree Golf Resort, notably scoring a 68 in the final round. Moreover, Spiranac beat Hannah O’Sullivan, an 18-year-old top-ranked amateur, to win the championship.

As a golfer, Spiranac couldn’t find success, other than once on the Cactus Tour. People had never believed in her talent since they thought the golf organizations gave her a chance to increase the event’s commercial value. The comments hurt her the most, leading her to rethink her career choice.
