Although it was Higgs who was her fan, it turned out that Nelly had seen and enjoyed his ‘celebrations’ lately. Higgs and his friend and golfer, Joel Dahmen, were on the headlines after they ‘celebrated’ in a very unique way at the Phoenix Open. Nelly might have pulled his leg when she said, “I liked your celebration,” when the male golfer ran towards her to get her autograph.

Higgs later revealed why and when he started to admire her. He said, “She is obviously had a great last couple years, and I am a big fan.” He further explained that Nelly keeps everything simple and believes in herself and her ability. That is the quality of the female golfer which Higgs admires the most.
Higgs further added that she is best at what she does, and he tries to do the same. “Never a bad thing to acknowledge someone who’s great at what they do,” he said in the end.
